Informing TeleNav of new streets/ highways

Is there a way to inform telenav of new streets/ highways ? There is a 18 mile stretch of 4 lane highway on the route I travel daily that was complete 2 years ago....yet telenav still shows the old 2 lane road of to the side and tries to get me on the old road

Hi there, Michael and thanks for dropping by Our Community!

We do apologize about maps not being updated within your area. There are various methods of notifying TeleNav about mapping changes. First and foremost you may call our 24hr customer care at (888)-353-6284 and inform anyone of our representatives about the mapping change in your area.

Secondly you may also email our customer care at care@telenav dot com with the mapping information. All emails are read and reviewed daily, and lastly you may also post within our online community, which is closely monitored by our online community management team.

If you don’t mind providing us more information regarding the City/state, highway name/number, and beginning/ending exits about this issue we can definitely send it over to the mapping team for review.

Thanks for stopping by and please let us know if you have any further questions, we will be happy to assist.

    Regards,
    Peter

  • I'd also like to add that in TeleNav GPS Navigator 6.2 and above, we actually have a feedback button in our app that can be used to share this type of information as well. Please be aware though, we do work with our content partners on making changes and they do take some time to show up.

    Best,

  • Take time yes but how can google update a map in days that you don't fix a year after I reported it to you?

Sprint Navigation 2.1 is not up to date with latest roads.

Sprint Navigation by TeleNav has not updated at all since 2013. New establishments and roads are not recognized. For a service that you pay $9.99/month this is not proper.

TeleNav needs to have their development team update it as it did for the newer smartphones that are using TeleNav GPS Navigator which did update.

    • Hello Garrett,

Our last map update was done on February 2014 and regarding the update to the requested street, we can expect to have it available again, in the first quarter of 2015.

      Have a great day!

      Jacob

  • Well now I use Verizon I can't use TeleNav any more without paying, and frankly while I liked TeleNav, I'd rather use Google Navigation which is updated on the fly, rather than having to wait a year for an update on TeleNav.

  • I actually, just recently, upgraded my phone and now I use TeleNav GPS Navigator which is a newer version of Sprint Navigation.. I'm sure Verizon had something similar. So I did a side-by-side comparison between Google Maps and TeleNav with my fiancé's phone. TeleNav came out on top.. More accurate and the voice prompts are clearer and alert you earlier. The one thing no one can argue though is Google Maps is free so you cant complain about that.. lol. It seems now you can alert TeleNav and there mapping developers will look into the request.

  • I can't see how Telenav can be more accurate when Google Maps is continuously updated and Telenav is updated once a year. Google Maps is not free, it's cost is absorbed in the service and I just find Google Maps to be more accurate and reliable.
